The Killen fire department was established in 1962. Killen Fire Rescue provides the citizens and businesses of the Killen Fire District with a quality, innovative, well trained fire department. Killen Fire Rescue is also home to FEMA Light 2 Rescue Team. Killen Fire Rescue strives to reduce the loss of life and property through fire protection, emergency medical response, technical rescue response, swift water rescue, dive rescue, fire prevention education and other services as needed.
